Train Your Staff

Saving Innocence is at the forefront of innovative approaches to end child sex trafficking. Contracted with the Los Angeles Superior Court and Los Angeles Probation, Saving Innocence offers training to law enforcement, district attorneys and judges to better-equip them at spotting trafficking and stopping it. In addition, the training sessions provide a look into the lives of the girls caught in trafficking, therefore changing the outlook of the girls involved from “criminal” to “victim”.

Saving Innocence also offers training to other front-line professionals such as social workers, therapists, school teachers, medical professionals, and other community leaders. We lead a “Prevention-Intervention” workshop in local juvenile halls and group home placements for high-risk youth. This will provide knowledge and activities for these youth on the following topics: how to identify and keep themselves safe from traffickers, how to reduce their risk of exploitation, the link between substance abuse and exploitation, developing higher self-esteem, understanding sexual health, understanding the realities of “the life” in prostitution, and best case practices for finding help and safety.

The purpose of our training sessions is to educate everyone in our community about the issue of child sex trafficking that is happening right in our backyard. SI professionals provide up-to-date, thorough, and relevant information about the problem and also suggest practical and effective tools and strategies to combat it and to assist the survivors. To request a speaker for your staff, event, or agency, contact us at info@savinginnocence.org.

Juvenile Hall Workshops

We will be running numerous workshops in local juvenile halls, group home placements, Dorothy Kirby Mental Health Center, and Juvenile Justice centers for survivors of DMST and high-risk youth. This will provide knowledge and activities for these high-risk youth on the following topics: how to identify and keep themselves safe from traffickers, how to reduce their risk of exploitation, the link between substance abuse and exploitation, developing higher self-esteem, understanding sexual health, understanding the realities of “the life” in prostitution, and best case practices for finding help and safety.

School Presentations – Provided by Partners

One of the most powerful ways to prevent young girls from becoming victims, and to prevent young boys from becoming pimps, is simply education. Because society has glamorized the images, and turned the word “pimp” into a positive label, Saving Innocence is dedicated to helping our youth understand the realities of “the life” so that they don’t fall into it. We partner with iEmpathize who provides amazing curriculums and videos in a way that helps youth understand vulnerability and empathy as underlying issues with trafficking.
